Understanding of emerging and future water security issues and conducting research to provide evidence of solutions is a global need. We at ReDI aims to improve water security for the poor while supporting to reach Sustainable Development Goal 6 and related targets, through community based water management, a well-known approach used in rural water resources conservation and utilization projects.
We implement a project for the conservation of natural water resources in the central hills of Sri Lanka through community based water protection planning and water governance. The project will address number of challenges associated with the conservation of natural water resources with special focus on highland landscape and in Sri Lankan context.
